Rocky Boy's Reservation still without clean water

Most of the Rocky Boy's Reservation in Montana has been without clean water since May 25 after an accidental contamination.

The Chippewa Cree Tribe has been unable to declare the water safe for consumption. The Environmental Protection Agency is still testing the system and it could be two more weeks before residents have clean water.

"It's crazy," Angie Stone, who has to drive 22 miles to do laundry, told The Great Falls Tribune. "It's really tough when you have kids."

Every morning, Yvonne Demontiney takes her family of six to her mother's house 13 miles away in order to use the shower. "I'm going through seven gallons of water at a time to wash and rinse my dishes," she said.

The EPA says the water-use restrictions could be lifted by June 29.
