Native youth in New Mexico attend art camp

The second annual Native Youth Art Camp at San Juan College in New Mexico began on Monday.

About a dozen high school students are taking part in the program. They will spend the next week learning more about traditional arts and crafts, like Navajo weaving and sculpture.

"Being in this camp gives me guidance," Fernando Charley, 16, told The Farmington Daily Times.

The students will showcase their works during an exhibition on August 1 at the college.
