Kiowa Tribe mourns loss of three to flooding

Funeral services will be held on Thursday for three members of the Kiowa Tribe who died in a flash flood in Oklahoma.

Chairman Billy Evans Horse lost his wife, Dorita, and his daugther, Helen, his daughter, in the flood. Also killed was Rose Saddleblanket, a niece. They were coming back from a powwow when their vehicle was swept away by the waters.

Saddleblanket, 17, was a student at Riverside Indian School, which was closed on Monday for two weeks. Flooding caused the pipes at the school to burst.
