Navajo students develop anti-drunk driving slogans

Students at an elementary school on the Navajo Nation are urging motorists not to drink and drive or speed along a dangerous highway.

The fifth-graders at Nenahnezad Community School developed the slogans for a series of billboards along Navajo Route 36 in New Mexico. Their images appear on the billboards with messages like "If you drink and drive, you're going to make someone cry," and "Slow down because I love you."

According to the Navajo Department of Law Enforcement, there were 30 accidents on the road in 2006 -- 14 with injuries and one resulting in a fatality. So far this year, there have been 25 accidents — one fatal and two resulting in injuries.
