Navajo youth compete at junior rodeo in New Mexico

Navajo kids as young as 3 years old took part in the 96th Shiprock Navajo Fair Junior Rodeo in New Mexico.

Springsky Chee, 3, competed in the barrel racing, flag racing and goat tagging events. It wasn't even her first rodeo either -- she started at age 2.

"She wanted to do this," Springsky's father, Joseph Chee, told The Farminngton Daily Times.

Springsky has company in her pursuit of rodeo. Her older sisters, Autumnrain, 13, and Winterblossom, 14, also compete.

The 96th Shiprock Navajo Fair runs through Sunday.
