After fires, La Jolla Band faces threat of mudslide

After surviving the southern California wildfires, the La Jolla Band of Luiseno Indians is preparing for another potential disaster: mudslides.

More than 90 percent of the 9,400-acre reservation was burned. About a third of the homes were destroyed.

For those who have returned, the tribe is worried about the ones with homes along the Palomar Mountain. They might need to evacuate quickly in case of rain.

About 33 tribal members still haven't been able to return home. FEMA is bringing in mobile homes that might be used by the tribe.
