Volunteers clean up defaced Klallam mural

Volunteers cleaned up a mural of a Klallam village that was defaced in Port Angeles, Washington.

Vandals blacked out the faces of the Klallam people in the mural and scrawled the words "white power" on it. Port Townsend artist Cory Ench, who painted the mural in 1998, plans to make needed repairs early next year

The incident took place last Thursday but surveillance footage is useless, said police chief Terry Gallagher. Two people were seen on the tape but there were no images of them defacing the mural.
