Saginaw Chippewa Tribe banishes at least four

The Saginaw Chippewa Tribe of Michigan has banished at least four people, including one man with a criminal record.

The tribe's banishment law has been on the books for decades. It was recently updated to give people due process if they are banished.

The tribe has banished two tribal members and two members of the other tribes. A non-Indian named Juan Garcia Romero was banished for having a "disruptive" relationship with a tribal member.
