Cherokee football player favored for Heisman
Sam Bradford, a member of the Cherokee Nation who plays football for University of Oklahoma, is favored to win the Heisman Trophy, USA Today reports.

The award will be announced on Saturday. Bradford would be the first Native American to win the trophy if he's selected.

"It opens everything up for us," Ray Brady, a student at Riverside Indian School told the paper. "Like Obama becoming President."

Bradford is a finance major at OU and has a grade-point average of 3.95. He plans to go to law school.
