Haskell University launches research center

Haskell Indian Nations University in Kansas has launched its first research center.

The Research Evaluation and Dissemination Center will focus on conducting and disseminating indigenous research. Its first project is a summit on the Urban Indian experience on April 10-11.

The center also oversees three new programs at Haskell. The Gerald E. Gipp Scholar Exchange Program allows faculty to pursue postbaccalaureate degrees through reduced teaching loads and sabbatical leave. The Robert G. Martin International Education Program provides study abroad trips for students. The Karen Gayton Swisher Instructional Mentorship Program trains teachers to become mentors for future K-12 teachers.
