Pharmacy on Seneca-Cayuga land shut down

An Internet pharmacy that was licensed by the Seneca-Cayuga Tribe of Oklahoma has been shut down by federal authorities.

The Grand Lake Pharmacy was operating on tribal land in Grove. Its owner is Norman Edward Enyart Jr., also known as J.R. Enyart, a tribal member.

State and federal authorities began investigating the pharmacy as early as 2006 but it appeared no laws were being broken. The state lacked jurisdiction in Indian Country and the Drug Enforcement Administration said no narcotics were being dispensed.

But after Enyart ran into trouble with the tribe over his smokeshop, his pharmacy license was revoked. The state raided both the pharmacy and the smokeshop and expect Enyart to surrender to authorities.
