Yakama Nation police officers may not be certified
Yakama Nation General Council Vice Chairwoman Mavis Kindness isn't sure whether her tribe's police officers are federally certified.

Kindness said several officers are overweight, unhealthy and often miss work. She doesn't think they would meet requirement set by the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

The tribe recently fired its police chief, David Washines. He says he was unfairly removed.
