Absentee Shawnee Tribe awarded $156K grant

The Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma will use a $156,466 grant from the Environmental Protection Agency to clean up and develop a contaminated site.

The old Lillard Pipe Supply site is in Tecumseh. The tribe hopes to open two businesses and expand its environmental training center once the property is cleaned up.

The grant was awarded under the EPA's brownfields program.
