Rep. Cole aids outgoing lawmaker's legal fund

Rep. Tom Cole (R-Oklahoma), the only Native American in Congress, donated $5,000 to outgoing Rep. John Doolittle's (R-California) legal fund.

Cole is the chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee. He donated the money to Doolittle through his leadership political action committee.

Doolittle is reportedly under federal investigation for his ties to convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff, who bilked tribal clients out of millions of dollars. Cole is a member of the Chickasaw Nation of Oklahoma.

Doolittle plans to leave Congress at the end of this year.
