Schaghticoke chief seeks meeting with Bush

The leader of the Schaghticoke Tribal Nation of Connecticut wants to meet with President Bush.

Chief Richard Velky wants to press Bush on his tribe's federal recognition. The Bureau of Indian Affairs, after making a favorable ruling, reversed itself after an appeal from the state of Connecticut.

Bush will be in Kent, Connecticut, today for a fund raiser. Velky hopes the president will decide to visit him.
