Colorado's oil and gas rules run into opposition
The Southern Ute Tribe and the U.S. Forest Service are opposing attempts by Colorado to revise its oil and gas rules.

The tribe says the proposed rules infringe on its sovereignty. The Forest Service say they could conflict with federal regulations.

The oil and gas industry also objects to the proposal. The Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission wants to finalize most of the rules by November.
