Nevada Supreme Court dismisses child support case
The Nevada Supreme Court has dismissed a child support case involving a member of the Shoshone-Paiute Tribes.

Norman Thomas was sued in state court by the mother of his child. All parties live on the Duck Valley Reservation.

A lower court refused to dismiss the case. The high court, in a 6-0 decision, said child custody matters fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the tribe.

The opinion is being released today.
