One dead in Navajo police shooting in New Mexico
One man is dead and another has been injured in a shooting involving Navajo Nation police officers in New Mexico.

San Juan County Sheriff's deputies began chasing the suspects for a drunk-driving incident on Saturday. But they ended their pursuit when the vehicle entered the reservation.

Two tribal officers became involved when the vehicle stopped near Shiprock. One officer fired at least two shots when the driver struck another officer with the car. The second officer was not seriously injured.

The incident is the second police shooting on the reservation in less than a month. In both cases, the chase began off the reservation.
