Jason O’Neal, the chief of the Chickasaw Nation Lighthorse Police Department, has been honored by the National Native American Law Enforcement Association.
O'Neal, a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, received the Chief of Police of the Year award during NNALEA's conference earlier this month. He was praised for his efforts to improve coordination among tribal, local and state agencies.
“Thanks to Chief O’Neal’s vision and tireless work, the Lighthorse Police Department is one of the most respected and proactive law enforcement agencies in the state,” said Chickasaw Nation Gov. Bill Anoatubby, The Ada Evening News reported. “We appreciate Jason’s efforts and congratulate him on the prestigious award.”
