UN committee seeks answers on Native women
The United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women is asking Canada to explain why so many Native women have been killed or gone missing.

The committee says Canada hasn't done enough to investigate more than 500 cases of missing or dead Native women. A report is requested in a year.

The Native Women's Association of Canada counted 510 cases of Native women and girls who have died or gone missing since 1980.
