Gover not expecting to hear from Obama transition
Kevin Gover doesn't expect to hear from president-elect Barack Obama about a potential job in the new administration.

Gover, a member of the Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma, reportedly eyed the top post at the Interior Department. If nominated, he would be the first Native American to serve as a Cabinet secretary

But Gover's spokesperson said he has not "heard anything from the transition" and isn't expecting a response. Obama is expected to announce his pick as early as this week.

Gover currently serves as director of the National Museum of the American Indian. During the Clinton administration, he oversaw the Bureau of Indian Affairs and was held in contempt of court for failing to produce trust records.
