Ex-staffer linked to Abramoff took two salaries
A former Capitol Hill staffer who has been linked to the Jack Abramoff scandal continued to earn money from her government job after leaving the office of Sen. Thad Cochran (R-Mississippi).

Ann Copland was paid more than $20,000 by Cochran even though she started working for Mississippi Public Broadcasting. Her salary at the new job was $92,000 a year.

Copland was Cochran's lead on tribal issues. According to federal prosecutors, she received gifts from Abramoff and his associates in exchange for the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians.

"She'll get everything she wants," Abramoff said in one e-mail.
