Gov. Palin denies influence on Alaska Native job
Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) denied using her influence to secure a job with an Alaska Native firm for her daughter's boyfriend.

Levi Johnston, 18, was taking part in an electrical apprenticeship with ASRC Energy Services Inc., a subsidiary of Arctic Slope Regional Corporation. But he had to withdraw because he lacks a high school diploma, a requirement of the program.

Palin and Johnston's father denied the governor played a role in Johnston obtaining the job despite not meeting the requirement. They also said Todd Palin, the governor's husband, who is Alaska Native and works in the energy industry, did not play a role.

Johnston and Bristol Palin, the governor's daughter, are recent parents.
