Judge dismisses lawsuit against Oneida Nation
A federal judge has threatened to impose sanctions against an attorney who filed a lawsuit against the Oneida Nation of New York.

Judge Frederick Scullin chastised attorney David Vickers for making claims that were "disingenuous at best and fraudulent at worst" on behalf of a former tribal employee who said he was fired because he was not Native American.

Scullin said Vickers misrepresented key facts in the lawsuit. "The court will not tolerate such conduct in the future," the judge said in an opinion quoted by The Syracuse Post-Standard.

"Although we don't comment on personnel-related issues, the court decision says it all," a tribal spokesperson said in response.
