A Native man in Winnipeg, Manitoba, is being hailed as a hero for saving the life of a second person this year.

Faron Hall and his friends were sitting on the Red River when one of them fell in. He was able to save Tara Beardy but her husband, Chris Harper, who had gone in the water after her, died.

Hall, who was previously homeless, garnered national attention in May when he saved a teenager who fell into the same river. Despite his latest efforts, police arrested him after Friday's incident because they said he had been drinking.

Hall is from the Dakota Tipi First Nation in Manitoba.
