Eskasoni First Nation sees three youth suicides
Three young people from the Eskasoni First Nation of Nova Scotia committed suicide in the last month.

Community leaders say the deaths point to a need for youth services. The band is opening a new youth center but a social worker said there isn't any money for staff or programs.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police says prescription pill abuse has contributed to a rise in suicides. Last year, 17 people were charged with drug trafficking on the reserve.
