Heard Museum hosts hoop dance competition
The Heard Museum in Arizona hosts the 19th annual World Championship Hoop Dance Contest this weekend.

The contest draws top adult and youth dancers from the United States and Canada. They will compete for the world title and more than $30,000 in prize money.

First-time adult champion Charles Denny, Chippewa/Cree/Ute, 18, is expected to face at least four competitors. He won the title last year by just one point.

The event takes place February 7-8 at the Heard in Phoenix.
