Seminole Tribe credited with saving Haitian baby
The Seminole Tribe of Florida is being credited with helping save the life of a Haitian newborn..

The tribe sent a rescue mission to Haiti last fall after the Caribbean nation was hit by storms and floods. Three tribal paramedics stepped in to save the baby, whose mother had died in childbirth.

"We have been very blessed, and so now it is our turn to help those who need it," council member Max Osceola said at a ceremony at tribal headquarters, The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported.

The tribe was contacted by the nonprofit group Mission Haiti to assist with efforts.
