Indian activists are hoping to derail plans for two oil pipelines that will run through the Leech Lake and Fond du Lac reservations.

Clyde Bellecourt, Winona LaDuke and the Indigenous Environmental Network say the project will harm the environment. They criticized tribal leaders for agreeing to accept money from Enbridge Energy.

The Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe stands to gain $10 million for allowing the pipeline on the reservation. The amount being paid to the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa is being kept secret.
