Montana tribes recognized for sex offender tracking
The U.S. Marshals Service honored three tribes in Montana for their efforts to track sex offenders on their reservations.

The Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act requires tribes to establish tracking systems or let the state do it for them. Most tribes who responded to the law decided to create their own registries.

"We know where you are," said Fort Peck Tribes Chairman A.T. Rusty Stafne, The Billings Gazette reported. "We're going to be watching you."

The Fort Peck Tribes, the Northern Cheyenne Tribe and the Crow Tribe were recognized for their efforts.
