Tiger Woods to play at Notah Begay charity event
Golf superstar Tiger Woods will play at the second annual Notah Begay III Foundation Challenge, which takes place on the Oneida Nation of New York in August.

Woods and Notah Begay (Pueblo/Navajo) were roommates and team members at Stanford University. The two will play in a "skins" game with other top players.

"I was celebrating," Oneida Nation representative Ray Halbritter said after learning of Woods' participation, the Associated Press reported. "I couldn't believe it, really. I just hope we can make the course hard enough for him."

Last year, the NB3 Foundation raised nearly $200,000 for Native youth health programs. With Woods on board, Begay hopes to raise between $600,000 and $800,000.

"It's the Tiger factor," said Begay, the AP reported.

The event takes place August 24 at the Turning Stone Resort.
