Trooper in Creek paramedic scuffle suspended

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has suspended a trooper for five days without pay for an incident involving Muscogee (Creek) Nation paramedics.

Trooper Daniel Martin must also undergo an anger management assessment for "conduct unbecoming an officer," The Tulsa World reported. Martin's May 24 scuffle with two tribal paramedics was caught on camera and broadcast throughout the world.

Paramedic Maurice White Jr. filed a federal lawsuit against Martin on Tuesday, saying his civil rights were violated. "We will deal with this and deal with this severely. Martin will pay." White's attorney told the paper.
