Task force launched after deaths of Native girls

Law enforcement authorities in Manitoba announced a task force to look into missing and murdered women after two Native teenage girls were found dead in Winnipeg.

Authorities aren't saying whether the deaths of Cherisse Houle, 17, and Hillary Angel Wilson, 18, are connected. But a close friend said both traded sex with older men in exchange for food, clothes and crack cocaine.

"Something's gonna happen. I have this feeling — all of my friends have this strong feeling," the 20-year-old woman told CBC News. "We're scared for our life right now."

Native groups say 75 Native women have gone missing in Manitoba in the last two decades.
