A jury awarded two men in Minnesota about $300,000 in damages in a failed land deal with the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa.
Matthew Husnik and Greg P. Hallback wanted to sell 60 acres to the tribe. The jury found that attorney Robert N. Roningen committed professional malpractice in his representation of the two men.
Roningen plans to appeal. The tribe was not involved in the lawsuit.
