Man accused of 'sweat lodge' deaths eyes lower bond
James Arthur Ray, the self-help guru accused in connection with the deaths of three people at a "sweat lodge" in Arizona, says he can't afford a $5 million bond.

Ray charged people up to $9,000 to participate in events at the Angel Valley Retreat Center in Sedona. He also once said his company was going to take in $10 million in revenues in 2009.

But court documents list Ray's assets as $234,000, The Arizona Republic reported. His lawyers are asking a judge to lower the bond at a hearing today.

Ray is being held in Yavapai County jail on three counts of manslaughter. Ray is accused of recklessness that caused the deaths of Kirby Brown, 38; James Shore, 40; and Liz Neuman, 49.
