First Nations might be interested in hosting nuclear waste facility
First Nations in Saskatchewan might be interested in hosting Canada's nuclear waste facility.

The Nuclear Waste Management Organization, which was created by law to evaluate waste storage proposals, has made presentations to a number of Native groups, a spokesperson said. But the process is only in the very early stages.

"They really do this in confidence, because in a lot of cases it's people that haven't talked to their communities," spokesperson Jamie Robinson told CBC News.

To become a part of the process, a First Nation has to pass a resolution expressing interest and has to have land where the waste might be stored.
