Tohono O'odham Nation reported 44 migrant deaths last month
A near-record 59 people died in July while crossing from Mexico into the United States.

Of the deaths, 44 occurred on the Tohono O'odham Nation. The reservation shares 75 miles with Mexico's border.

The record for the most deaths was July 2005, when 68 bodies were found.
