San Manuel Band welcomes 2010 count on reservation
The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians of California will welcome the 2010 Census to the reservation on Friday.

A tribal elder will have the honor of being the "First Person Counted" in the Los Angeles region. About 30 million people live in the area.

The Census 2010 officially began in the Alaska Native village of Noorvik. The first person counted was Clifton Jackson, 89, a World War II veteran.
