The Alaska Federation of Natives will host its 2011 convention in Anchorage.
AFN has alternated between Anchorage and Fairbanks in recent years. Both cities lobby to host the large and popular gathering.
The convention brings in $5.3 million to Anchorage, according to the chief executive of the Anchorage Convention and Visitors Bureau.
