Ojibwe declared as the official language of Red Lake Nation
The Red Lake Nation of Minnesota has declared Ojibwe as the official language.

The tribal council unanimously passed an official language resolution on April 27. The resolution said the tribe wants to preserve Ojibwe for future generations.

The tribe will host a meeting of the Dakota and Ojibwe Language Revitalization Volunteer Working Group, an initiative administered by the Minnesota Indian Affairs Council, on June 16-17.
