BIA approves Saginaw Chippewa Tribe land-into-trust application
The Bureau of Indian Affairs has approved a land-into-trust application for the Saginaw Chippewa Tribe of Michigan.

The BIA is taking public comments for 30 days on the decision to acquire 195.61 acres for the tribe. A notice was sent out July 19, The Arenac Independent reported.

The land is contiguous to the reservation. "This land gives us a larger footing for cultural activities," public relations director Frank Cloutier told the paper.
