A college on the Navajo Nation is seeking to remove its president from office.
The regents of Dine College suspended Ferlin Clark with pay in January. A lawsuit filed in tribal court accuses him of misusing his position and retaliating against employees.
"Ferlin Clark has usurped power and is using that power to retaliate against long-time employees who speak up and say that his actions are against policy, against the law, or even asks a legitimate question that Clark dislikes the answer," the college said in request for an emergency injunction, The Farmington Daily Times reported.
Clark has served as president for eight years.
