It looks like there might be two parades during the 99th annual Shiprock Navajo Fair this year.

The Shiprock Chapter of the Navajo Nation revived the Northern Navajo Fair Board in order to run the parade and has named Lt. Gov. Diane Denish (D) as the grand marshal. The New Mexico Department of Transportation gave the group a temporary permit for the event, The Farmington Daily Times reported.

But the non-profit Shiprock Navajo Fair Inc. still plans to hold its own parade. President Joe Shirley Jr. is due to serve as grand marshal.

Both groups are accepting entry fees for their respective parades, scheduled for the morning of October 2.
