Meskwaki Tribe studies feasibility of wind power on reservation
The Meskwaki Tribe of Iowa has begun a wind energy feasibility study.

The tribe put up a 298-foot tower to record wind speeds and directions. The goal is to determine whether wind can supply power to the reservation.

"I think it is a good idea that could save the people a lot of money," elder Leodean Peters told The Des Moines Register.

The study, which began September 1, will last a year.
