APRN: St. Paul Tribe receives funding for study of sea lion's diet
"The North Pacific Fishery Management Council is awarding $158,000 to the St. Paul tribal government in the Pibilof Islands.

The Species Recovery Grants to Tribes program funding will go to study the Stellar Sea Lion diet. And because some residents of St. Paul hunt the sea lions for subsistence, the tribe will also measure for contaminants.

Phillip Zavadil, director of St. Paul’s tribal ecosystem conservation office, explains why his community is so concerned about the decline of the sea lion population."
