Shooting in North Dakota may be tied to anti-Indian remarks
Authorities in North Dakota say a shooting suspect may have acted in response to anti-Indian remarks.

Allen Rencountre, 37, is charged with attempted murder, fleeing a law officer in a motor vehicle and reckless driving. He allegedly shot a hotel clerk in the chest early Sunday morning.

Rencountre's tribal affiliation was not reported but his permanent address is on the Crow Creek Sioux Reservation in South Dakota.
