Turtle Mountain voters oust chairman and four council members
Members of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians in North Dakota ousted most of their tribal leaders in a primary on Tuesday.

Chairman Richard Marcellais came in third among four candidates for the post so he won't be in the primary election. Merle St. Claire won the most votes, followed by Sam D. LaRocque.

As for the tribal council, voters ousted all four incumbents who were seeking re-election. The general election will take place November 2.
