Cheyenne River Sioux man files employment discrimination case

Donovin Sprague, a member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe of South Dakota, is suing the Crazy Horse Memorial Foundation for employment discrimination.

Sprague worked at the foundation, which oversees the massive mountain carving of Crazy Horse, for more than 10 years. He said he was denied raises and promotions, demoted from positions with more responsibility and fired after bringing his concerns with the Equal Opportunity Employment Commission, The Sioux Falls Argus Leader reported.

In a recent Native Sun News article, Sprague said the memorial is falsely reporting the date of Crazy Horse's death.
