Tule River Tribe reports large turnout for council member election

The Tule River Tribe of California elected new council members over the weekend, with 75 percent of eligible voters casting ballots.

Five seats were open on the council. Heather Teran and Duane M. Garfield Sr. won re-election and newcomers Rhoda Hunter, Kevin Bonds and Michele McDarment were chosen.

Ryan Garfield will continue to serve as chairman of the council.
