NCAI President Keel delivers State of Indian Nations on Thursday

National Congress of American Indians President Jefferson Keel will deliver the annual State of Indian Nations address this Thursday.

This year's speech will take place at 10:30am at the Newseum in Washington, D.C. It will be broadcast live at ncai.org and carried on radio stations across the country.

Keel will use the address to reflect on the state of Indian Country going into 2011 and outline the key priorities for the federal government to consider when working to uphold the federal trust responsibility to tribal nations. It comes two days after President Barack Obama delivers the State of the Union.

Keel is in his second year as NCAI president. He also serves as lieutenant governor of the Chickasaw Nation in Oklahoma.
